What makes lubricating grease?

Lubricating grease is an oil lubricant mixed with a thick soap that eventually turns in semisolid. The starting oil can be mineral oil, synthetic oil or biobased oil.

When to use oil or grease for lubricating?

Greases are usually better for control over leaks and is used as a better sealant. On the other hand, you can use oil to lubricate something without the resistance when using grease.
