Recent news states that the National Grid have cancelled DSBR for Winter 2016. DSBR stands for Demand Side Balancing Reserve and was due to commence in three months’ time. It was created for companies that have not already tried to reduce, or alter, their energy demand.
The fact that the winter power scheme has been cancelled so close to its launch, means that many companies have lost confidence in the National Grid’s reliability.
For some, the cancellation of DSBR has been a described as a decision that is not considering the long-term, while it has also been suggested that the National Grid will be using its Power Responsive Campaign to tackle energy demand this winter.
