Winter energy supplies to be ‘tight but manageable’

The National Grid has announced its confidence for the supply of electricity throughout the winter months, based on its Winter Outlook 2015/16 forecast. Although supply is tighter this year due to the closure of several coal-fired power stations, additional balancing services attained through the Demand Response will help with the provision of energy at times of peak demand.

Financial Incentives On The Demand Response Team

The Demand Response scheme offers financial incentives for companies that voluntarily reduce their electricity usage, or switch to another source of energy or generation than the Grid, at times of peak demand. It is only available for companies that use a half-hourly meter and is completely free to set up – which The Energy Desk can do on your behalf. Learn more about the Demand Response Scheme.
